PM Shehbaz Sharif Visits Gilgit-Baltistan: Assures Support to Flood Victims, Announces Relief Funds
In the wake of destructive rains and flash floods in Gilgit-Baltistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid a one-day emergency visit to the region. He was warmly welcomed by Governor Syed Mehdi Shah, Chief Minister Gulbar Khan, and top civil and military officials.
During his visit, PM Shehbaz met flood victims, listened to their concerns, and distributed immediate relief funds. He also held a detailed meeting with the Governor to discuss flood damages, ongoing development projects, and law and order.
According to GB government spokesperson Faizullah Faraq, the recent floods have caused financial losses exceeding Rs. 20 billion. The Prime Minister’s visit is being viewed as a timely step toward rehabilitation and a morale booster for the local population.
