Petrol Price Cut by Rs7.54, Diesel Sees Rs1.48 Increase

🚗 Fuel Price Adjustment Brings Relief for Petrol Users, Slight Hike for Diesel

ISLAMABAD – August 1, 2025:
The federal government has announced the latest revision in petroleum product prices, bringing a mixed outcome for motorists nationwide. While petrol users will enjoy some financial relief, diesel users face a minor cost increase.

📉 Petrol Price Down by Rs7.54

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs7.54 per litre, a significant relief amid inflationary pressures. The revised rate now stands at Rs264.61 per litre, down from the earlier price of Rs272.15.

📈 Diesel Price Hiked by Rs1.48

In contrast, high-speed diesel has seen a slight increase of Rs1.48 per litre, taking the new price to Rs285.83 per litre, compared to the previous Rs284.35.

⏰ Effective from August 1

These updated rates have come into effect from midnight on 1 August 2025, and will remain valid until the next bi-weekly review. The Ministry explained that the adjustments are based on global oil market trends and the Pakistani rupee’s exchange rate.

💼 Impact on Economy and Transport Sector

The fluctuating fuel prices are expected to impact transportation costs, potentially influencing commodity prices and overall inflation. Petrol’s price cut may provide short-term relief to private vehicle owners and transport services, while the diesel hike could increase freight and logistics expenses.

This bi-weekly price revision is part of the government’s ongoing effort to align domestic fuel prices with international market dynamics, ensuring fair pricing for consumers while managing fiscal challenges.
