33 Terrorists Killed in Night Operation Near Pak-Afghan Border: ISPR

RAWALPINDI – Pakistan’s security forces have successfully eliminated 33 terrorists during a night-time operation near Sambaza in Zhob district, Balochistan, as they attempted to infiltrate from the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Friday.

According to the ISPR, the slain terrorists belonged to the India-backed militant outfit “Fitna al-Khawarij.” Acting on intelligence, troops engaged the infiltrators in a precise and coordinated strike, neutralising them on the spot. A significant quantity of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the site.

Security forces have launched a sanitisation operation in the region to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining threats. The ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces are committed to safeguarding national borders and defeating cross-border terrorism.

Tribute from Prime Minister
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the security forces for their swift and decisive action against the terrorists. In his statement, he praised the bravery of the personnel who risked their lives to thwart the infiltration attempt, killing 33 Khawarij militants.

He reaffirmed that the nation stands united with the armed forces and remains determined to eradicate all forms of terrorism from the country.

Mastung IED Attack and Martyrdom
A day earlier, the ISPR reported that three Pakistan Army personnel, including a major, embraced martyrdom after an Indian-sponsored militant group “Fitna al-Hindustan” targeted a security forces’ vehicle with an improvised explosive device (IED) in Mastung district, Balochistan.

The attack, which occurred on the night of August 5–6, claimed the lives of:

  • Major Muhammad Rizwan Tahir (31) from Narowal, a decorated officer with extensive counter-terrorism experience

  • Naik Ibni Amin (37) from Swabi

  • Lance Naik Muhammad Younas (33) from Karak

In a swift retaliatory operation, four terrorists linked to the Mastung attack were killed.
