Lahore (August 5, 2025) – A major case of corruption has rocked Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital as it was revealed that medical equipment worth Rs 12.1 million has mysteriously disappeared. The Specialized Healthcare Department has issued a show-cause notice to Senior Medical Officer Dr. Shabbir Hussain.
According to sources, a three-member inquiry committee submitted a comprehensive report uncovering solid evidence of corruption. The missing items reportedly include:
-
Operation theatre tables
-
Patient beds
-
Air conditioners
-
Wheelchairs
-
Valuable furniture
The official notice accuses Dr. Hussain of willfully allowing the disappearance of the equipment. He has been given a fixed deadline to respond, after which departmental proceedings will commence if a satisfactory explanation is not provided.
Jinnah Hospital is among Punjab’s top teaching hospitals, and such revelations raise serious concerns about resource mismanagement and the quality of healthcare services provided to the public.
