QUETTA: On Friday, there was more heavy rain in several parts of northern and central Balochistan. This resulted in flooding in various parts of the province, including Sibi, where floodwater reached some communities.
In various parts of the province, rain and flooding-related accidents are said to have claimed the lives of at least six persons.
Heavy rains were reported during the past 24 hours in Harnai, Zhob, Loralai, Sanjavi, Ziarat, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Barkhan, Qila Saifullah, Chaman, and Qila Abdullah, according to officials.
Seasonal streams transporting large amounts of floodwater near Harnai caused traffic disruptions on the main road.
Officials from the Irrigation Department claim that because there has been considerable rain for a few days in the catchment areas of the Rivers Nari Gaj and Bolan in Harnai and Ziarat, the rivers were at high flood levels.
