PM Shehbaz Calls Uraan Pakistan Youth Program a Key to National Growth and Empowerment

🇵🇰 Uraan Pakistan: A New Chapter in Youth Empowerment, Says PM Shehbaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday lauded the Uraan Pakistan initiative, describing it as a landmark step toward empowering Pakistani youth and ensuring long-term national prosperity.

While addressing students selected for the Uraan Pakistan Summer Scholars Program, the Prime Minister said the program reflects the country’s diversity and unity, as participants come from every province and region. He referred to the youth as “superstars” and expressed confidence in their potential to drive Pakistan forward.

🎯 Performance is the New Standard of Leadership

In a candid and motivational address, PM Shehbaz highlighted that performance and merit are the core values shaping the country’s future.

“I only recognize those who deliver,” he said. “Change will only come through results, and if we fail to serve the people, we will be accountable.”

He stressed that public service is not optional—it is a duty. Through dedication, transparency, and teamwork, the Prime Minister said his administration was committed to transforming Pakistan into a progressive state.

🧑‍💼 Economic Recovery and Responsible Governance

Reflecting on Pakistan’s financial challenges in 2023, PM Shehbaz recalled how the nation was on the brink of default.

“There was a time when many feared Pakistan would go bankrupt. But by finalizing agreements with the IMF and implementing critical reforms, we avoided that fate,” he said.

He praised the IMF deal as a vital decision that helped stabilize the economy and renewed international trust in Pakistan. The Prime Minister credited his team for steering the country through difficult times with unity and determination.

💡 Reform Through Transparency & Digitization

PM Shehbaz emphasized that his government is actively eliminating corruption and favoritism, replacing them with transparency and digital innovation.
He shared a key success story:

“Through digitization in the FBR, revenue in one sector alone rose from 12 billion to 50 billion rupees.”

Such reforms, he said, are enabling the government to promote merit-based systems and rebuild public trust.

📉 Policy Rate Cut to Boost Investment

The Prime Minister also pointed out that the recent reduction in the policy rate to 11% was part of a broader strategy to encourage investment and strengthen economic activity. Lower interest rates will help channel funds from banks into real-sector investments, creating jobs and boosting growth.

🚀 Uraan Pakistan: Bridging Youth with Governance

The Uraan Pakistan Program, finalized after months of expert consultations, is aimed at offering immersive learning opportunities to students within various ministries, departments, and government sectors.

Participants will gain hands-on experience, work alongside senior policymakers, and understand the mechanics of governance.

“This program is not just about internships,” the PM said. “It’s a national plan to prepare our next generation of leaders.”
